Recently, we have heard more often about a change in the country’s attitude towards a person, and measures have been taken to glorify his honor and dignity. At the same time, special attention is paid to young people, getting them a quality education and profession to find a worthy place in society. A systematic approach has been established in this direction. A systematic approach was adopted. If we consider this in the example of introducing young people to the profession, we will get a more accurate idea.
From ancient times, our ancestors paid particular attention to the vocational training of children, regardless of whether it is a boy or a girl, raising them in accordance with their abilities and skills. We know that introducing a child to work begins with the family.
A person's self-realization and his search for the meaning of life can only be imagined with his professional formation and development, which requires a certain amount of work. Initially, the work was carried out to feed oneself. Later the work turned into an activity to serve the good of society. Even today, this issue has not lost its relevance. After all, work is the meaning of life, and any business requires skills and abilities that come with experience.
Ensuring the rights and interests of young people, creating favorable conditions for their education, work, and realization of their abilities and talents in recent years in Uzbekistan have been raised to the level of state policy. Every young person today feels the ongoing transformation in their life.
This confirms the fact that more than 100 legal documents have been adopted in this direction in a short time, and their implementation is approached responsibly.
It is gratifying that the noble dream of our people – great attention to the further development of education in the creation of New Uzbekistan, is being realized today. Let’s think, a child spends almost 10 years of school life. During this time, it is the duty of each of us to instill in him a desire for science and craft.
When preparing young people for choosing a profession, it is essential to take into account the individual characteristics of each young man and woman, their innate talents, abilities for a particular job, and professional orientation, as well as preventing youth unemployment and increasing the number of professionals who will contribute to society and the development of the country.
If we look at the statistics, we see that out of 385,839 students who graduated from school in 2022, 136,649 (35.4%) were enrolled in higher education institutions, 113,979 (29.5%) became self-employed, 33,116 (8.6%) were employed, 18,187 (4.7%) started entrepreneurial activities, 5,165 (1.3%) went to foreign countries, 2,528 (0.7%) were in military service.
Today, new approaches to teaching are emerging in school education. The advanced international experience is studied, recognized as the most effective, and applied in practice. Modern methods are used for language acquisition, learning, and increasing interest in teenagers.
Last year, 14,474 graduates of the 11th grade studied vocational training and entrepreneurship courses, of which 9,113 received relevant certificates and 3,677 received soft loans.
The National Curriculum developed for grades 1-11 in 18 general education subjects includes 302 topics in this direction. To prepare and guide students to modern professions, more than 700 video textbooks, video content, presentations, and professiograms teaching more than 25 current professions are posted on “Milliy Talim Resurslari” and on profnavigator.uz. In turn, graduates are trained in 64 professions (cook, confectioner, seamstress, carpenter, plumber, etc.), which are in high demand in the labor market, and 10 professions in the creative industry (designer, IT programmer, 3D animator, media editor, etc.).
The direction of young people in relevant professions and areas and youth employment is a matter of national importance because young people form the country’s human resources potential.
That is, ensuring the employment of boys and girls is an urgent and long-term task of the state socio-economic policy. After all, increasing the competitiveness of human potential today largely depends on the youth strategy.
Modern youth largely influences society's political, economic, and social processes. Therefore, an important task is the early warning of crime by sending young people to the appropriate professions and ensuring their employment.
This is important for realizing the dreams of young people starting a new life, increasing their self-confidence and faith in the future, and raising them as a generation capable of making a worthy contribution to the prosperity and development of our country.
Taking into account the spiritual, moral, physical, and spiritual needs of young people and realizing the relevance of their independent preparation for choosing a profession in all aspects, since February 1, 2023, as an experiment in the country, 9,800 students in 126 schools in 42 districts (cities) have been trained in 64 working professions, 21 areas of entrepreneurship and 10 areas of IT and “creative industry”.
Hard work is one of the characteristics of our people. A person achieves all his goals with his work and aspirations. Through decent work, our children will be able to start independent lives. And we must help them in this, guide them through life, and find their way. For this purpose, the international exhibition “Education and Profession-2023” was organized for school graduates in the regions.
The exhibition was attended by representatives of more than 50 foreign universities and about 80,000 school graduates. In addition, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) within the framework of the project “Support for reforms and modernization processes in the system of vocational education in Uzbekistan” 2 national workshops were held.
About 34,000 excursions to enterprises and organizations in production, service, and agricultural technology were organized, and more than 616,000 students were attracted. To further increase graduates' interest in the profession, a month of open dialogue “Profession and Youth” was held, and 562,989 students of general education schools visited 716 vocational education institutions.
From the above, we see that under the leadership of the President, paternal care is being taken to ensure that young people are comprehensively and harmoniously developed.
And the goal is noble and common – that the children of New Uzbekistan be brought up thirsty for knowledge, conscientious and wise people.
