At the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction initiative, a scientific-practical conference was organized on “The place and role of the mahalla institute in settlement of civil society in Uzbekistan”.

The Chairman of “Uchtepa” mahalla, a member of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan deputy group in the Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies, deputy Mukhtar Ilkhomov, delivered a speech on “The place and role of the mahalla chairmen in identifying and solving the most common problems of the population” and shared his experience.

The experience of “Uchtepa” mahalla aroused the interest of the conference participants, and it was agreed to spread this experience to all existing mahallas in the country.
